INIS Environmental ltd part of RSK Group have a proven track record in the delivery of high quality Ecology products which is reinforced by the fact that we are commissioned by some of Ireland’s largest energy developers to complete the Ecology remits on their projects.

We are now hiring for an Ecologist Report Writer to join the team Hybrid from our Ennis office location or remote in Ireland, full time 37.5 hours per week. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write high-quality ecological reports, including Biodiversity Chapters, NIS, AA Screenings and EcIA
  • Interpret survey data and information provided by field ecologists
  • Ensure reports are accurate, clearly written, and meet internal and industry standards
  • Liaise with colleagues to gather and clarify survey findings when needed
  • Follow company templates and formatting guidelines
  • Work within agreed deadlines and flag any issues with capacity or timelines
  • Working in compliance with our SHEQ Management System, and demonstrating safe working practices that safeguard staff and the environment;
  • Stay up to date with relevant ecological guidance and legislation
  • Contribute to improving report quality and consistency across the team

Person Specification: 

 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Experience in writing ecological sections of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs)
  • Strong understanding of UK/Irish ecological guidance, legislation, and best practice
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite (MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
  • Professional membership of appropriate body (or eligibility to seek professional membership on appointment)
  • Experience with surveys (e.g., birds or bats) is considered beneficial but not essential for the role
